When the seasons change in Ontario, your tires may need to change with them. At Jerry’s Auto Medic in North York, ON, we provide professional tire changeover service to help drivers prepare for changing road and weather conditions. Whether you are switching to winter tires in the fall or putting your summer tires back on in the spring, our team can make the process simple and convenient.
The right tires can make a noticeable difference in how your vehicle handles. Winter tires are designed to stay flexible in cold temperatures and provide better grip on snow and ice. Summer and all-season tires are better suited to warmer conditions.
A professional seasonal tire service gives you the opportunity to switch your tires at the right time while also having their condition checked. During the appointment, our technicians can look for visible wear, damage, and other concerns that may affect performance.
Drivers often schedule a tire swap service when temperatures begin staying near 7°C. This is an important temperature range because winter tire rubber is designed for colder conditions, while other tires generally perform better once temperatures become warmer.
The type of changeover your vehicle needs depends on how your seasonal tires are stored. Some drivers keep both sets of tires mounted on separate wheels. Others use the same set of wheels for both their winter and summer tires.
If your seasonal tires are already mounted on wheels, we can complete a wheel swap service by removing one wheel-and-tire set and installing the other. This can usually make the seasonal changeover process more straightforward.
If your tires are not mounted on separate wheels, a tire mounting service is required. The tires must be removed from the wheels and the seasonal set mounted in their place. Proper tire installation is important for safe driving, even tire wear, and reliable handling.
At Jerry’s Auto Medic, we take care to make sure your tires and wheels are properly installed before your vehicle returns to the road. Depending on your setup, your service may include:
A professional seasonal wheel installation can also give technicians a chance to notice uneven tire wear or other concerns that may need further attention.
Changing tires is not only about preparing for snow. Tire design affects braking, steering, traction, and overall vehicle control. Using tires that match the season can help your vehicle respond more predictably in changing conditions.
Regular tire changeovers also provide a natural opportunity to keep track of tire wear from season to season. If one tire is wearing faster than the others, it could point to concerns involving tire pressure, alignment, suspension components, or other parts of the vehicle.
Jerry’s Auto Medic helps North York drivers stay prepared with dependable seasonal tire service. Scheduling your changeover before the busiest part of the season can also help you avoid waiting until the first major snowfall or sudden warm spell.
